Bambino Smoking Tobacco fan - Is this real?
Hi,
I just picked this up recently, but am concerned about the authenticity. I would love to get your opinions, especially if anyone else owns one or has handled one before. The Bambino Tobacco fan is not authentic. Technically it is not a “reproduction” as there are no authentic Bambino Tobacco fans dating from the 1930s. This is a “fantasy” piece made in recent times (approximately 1990). The design of the fan just borrows the image that appears on the 1930s Bambino Tobacco Tin. These fans were not even originally sold as old. They were sold as a limited-edition new product at the time they were issued but because they were not marked as being produced in recent times they have sometimes been offered by some as dating from the 1930s.
