Hey everyone. Was wondering if anyone knew a good vendor, or a site, with display cases for sale. Looking for a glass one with with shelves for the corner of my room to display more items. Appreciate any help.

It's tough to beat Ikea for pricing. Pretty nice stuff, too. Click on the link below, for various options. It would be hard to beat those Detolf Display Cabinets for the $59 price....

Matt or Mark (or anyone else),
Have either of you ordered those cabinets online and had them shipped, or did you buy them in person? The nearest store is quite a drive for me, and I'm wondering how well the company ships products like this. Thanks. |

Rob...
I've bought them at the store, and assembled them at home. It's a bit of a pain, but shouldn't take more than an hour of your time. I am sure that if they delivered to you from out of town , you would have to assemble them. There are "lower-maintenance" options at other furniture stores... this one just seems lik the best compromise between quality and cost (these Cabinets can be very expensive elsewhere). |

Those Ikea cabinets are a good option. I would also check craigslist. I've found a number of display cases available in my area. Usually being sold by people who had a store and need to move them ASAP. As such they are generally a fraction of the original price.

The above suggestions of Ikea, and craigslist are great ideas for immediate needs. I actually bought a couple of those ikea ones for 25.00 each used from shops that were downsizing or moving. Check garage sales (yes, I realize it is winter, so not viable for many like here in CAlifornia), flea markets, estate sales, and such too. I found stacking lawyer bookshelves for 20 buck a set of 3 shelves, and got 3 sets for 60.00, but that takes alot of time searching, and getting lucky. But you never know, as people right now are throwing great stuff away in dumpsters, or leaving out on there curb for the trashman!
