Looking to add a Williams to my collection. Can't afford the Wilson Franks or '54 Bowman. What, in your opinion, is the next-nicest option? Thanks for the input. |

'49 Leaf may be too pricey but it shows one splendid swing. The '52 Redman and '54 Topps #250 (port and swing) are nice images too. |

52 Redman Williams is really nice. I like it. 1954 Topps #250 is a beautiful card. I guess I am saying the same thing as Steve. He hit the nail on the head. |

The 49 Leaf is probably the one to go after but his Topps are nice ! |

Apparently Teddy only smiled that one time in the early 50's. Perhaps when the Dago stepped down? |

I thought the photo was from the 1946 All-Star game but he looks a little older so probly is from the early 50's. Here it is a couple more times, real photo on 1976 All Time Greats and 59 Fleer. |

Here is another one of favorite Ted cards....Ted's 1949 Leaf card on the left, I acquired as a kid back in the Spring of 1949. |

Well, I guess the '54 Bowman was not out of reach, after all. I picked this up in Clean Sweep last night. |

His last cards with Topps are also really cool. The 1957 is the first card in the set, also the first year Topps went to the smaller regular size that is still it's standard today. The 1958 is again the first card in the set and his last card with Topps along with his 1958 Topps All-Star card, the first year Topps issued All-Stars. His 1960 Fleer is a really nice card and the last year which he played baseball. |

I, too, had a complete set of '54 Bowman, saved from my youth. It had been missing the Ted all these yrs until I finally decided last Fall to pull the trigger & get one! |
