If it's not too late, I'd be interested in attending. I'm on Long Island. Easy half-hour train ride in.
But I have to check with the boss first, particularly since it's Valentine's weekend. Not that we had anything planned really. Always tough to do anything like that when you have a 4-year-old.

Usually you give the tips to a lady at a gentleman's club.

But - if you like the way Barry dances, I guess you can start giving barry tips - stuffing him with singles.

Because this is Leon's first trip ever to New York, I really thought hard about doing something special with him, so we're going for lap dances...there really isn't anything else worthwhile to do in Manhattan.

Edited to add- Michael, I've never been to one. Would Judy approve?

Got the OK from the little woman (she likes it when I call her that).
So count me in.
Though I didn't ask about lap dances.

Rob

I tend to get touchy feely in those places. If something gets thrown in my face what's a guy to do? I have probably been 3 times in the last 10 yrs....bachelor parties.....We might want to try something else....

if Barry dances... I would tip him.

Barry - Judy may or may not approve. Its worth asking her. If she does approve... you, me, and jeff can start a new friday night get together

as far as manhattan site (sight) seeing.... I hope you have a full day planned for Leon. There is a lot of cool stuff to see.

Leon... if you make it back during the summer - give me a heads up - I will look to get Yankee tickets and we can go see one of the last games in the house that Ruth built.

Actually, we will be taking a walking tour through Brooklyn Heights, we'll head into the city and walk through Washington Square Park, head up to the Empire State Building as Leon asked to see it, then squeeze in one or two other things along the way. We can't see all of NY in one day but we can certainly find some cool things to do.

Barry, don't take that hayseed to the Empire State Building -- hell, I don't think I've ever been to the Empire State Building!

I don't think we'll take the tour up, just walk past it. It's not that hard to find, you know.

And by the end of Saturday Leon will no longer be a hayseed...but a man of sophistication and taste. A day in Manhattan will do that to you.

I am guessing there is no where in NY City I could live that would pass my litmus test of where I like to live, (walking all the way around my house and peeing wherever I want to and no one (neighbors) seeing me.) ....Sophistication here I come....btw, is there a place to even park my tractor?

We'll find you a nice hitching post somewhere...you know, we could take the subway uptown and walk the museum mile; even if we don't go into the Metropolitan Museum, it's a beautiful part of the city and you can see where Burdick hung out every day for thirty years. We'll see how much energy we have.

And by the way, if anyone wants to walk with us for all or part of the day, feel free to join us.

Leon,

Don't miss the Jack Kerouac exhibit at the New York Public Library...I've written here about this previously, but the "On The Road" scroll is the greatest piece of ephemera I've ever seen. And there's
the baseball stuff, too.

It'll only take 10 minutes of your time...and the library is only a short walk from the, er, Empire State Bldg

Joseph- that was high on my list, as I haven't gotten to see it yet either. I assume it's on the 3rd floor, in the big room with all the glass display cases.

Barry--

You can't miss it. After you and Leon leave the Empire State Building, stroll up Fifth and walk up the steps under the giant exhibit banner
