Thanks Leon! After completing, it's been upgrades since. These were image quality upgrades this time, but always looking to upgrade overall when it makes sense.
Those autos are nice! Especially that Mantle. Beautiful addition. |

Picked up some 1958 rookies (and one 1960 card) of the great Japanese player Shigeo Nagashima, Mr. Giants.
I recently got into Japanese cards and began picking up rookies/early cards of the greats - Oh, Nomura, Nagashima, Kaneda, Starffin, Kawakami. Other than Oh, these are cards are extremely affordable and I absolutely love the aesthetics and designs of these Japanese menko cards. Last edited by Svabinsky78; 05-03-2024 at 07:22 PM. |

Although I don't collect them, older Japanese cards, like those shown, always look so fun. I especially like this one that you showed. Mr. Nagashima looks like he is a crazed lunatic hellbent on swatting down that little cartoon boy.

Others may disagree, but looking at VCP for similar cards I think you did well. Of course, any card is worth only what you or someone else is willing to pay.
Nice cards! Last edited by 4815162342; 05-04-2024 at 01:54 PM. |

Happy to pick these up in Memory Lane, Wood has been on my list a long time, I especially like the registration on this one, a lot of them are a bit out of registration and his lips can be all over his face. - Last edited by Casey2296; 05-06-2024 at 05:23 PM. |

Not a card, but neat nonetheless....the 1913 U of Michigan yearbook....
I love it for two reasons...(1) it's my alma mater and (2) it features the best baseball player to come out of U of M.....Gorgeous George....no disrespect Mr. Larkin, Gehringer, Freehan, and Abbott. Last edited by Svabinsky78; 05-08-2024 at 08:13 PM. |

Are those real PSA slabs? No number or Authentic grade?
|
#18
|
||||
|
||||
![]() Yep. 100% real. I block out the cert and grade most of the time when posting publicly. the cards can speak for themselves w/o some grader’s (especially PSA) opinion. In my opinion, the mays is undergraded while the Williams is overgraded. |

It's rare that I get to participate in this monthly thread, but I made some fun recent deals with my California friend Mike and his extensive PCL inventory, and also Sports Artifacts. To keep on topic with pre-war, a John "Monk" Sherlock Zeenut that I am told completed my 1933 sepia Hollywood Stars team set. Also, a nice selection of 1948 Signal Gasoline Oakland Oaks, in beautiful color photography 5 years before Bowman. Don't get too excited, though, because.... they're all trimmed! But, the 9 includes Casey Stengel, Billy Martin, and Ernie Lombardi!
