Like Peter's T207 Red Cross Lowdermilk, this isn't really my "holy grail," because until I saw it I didn't know it existed. But it's probably my favorite/most unusual postwar card.

Not pre-war but my holy grails:

and this card, of which I added a second copy (total pop 5 soon to be 6 once my grades pop - perhaps the toughest of the Bond Bread set)

I will likely sell one of the two to boost my spending power for the National, or trade it for one of a few select items.

No, a postcard is a card. It belongs in the pre-war card forum.

Default Iconic Ruth Card

Would you believe this classic Ruth card, graded PSA-3, wound up costing me $10 total about a year and a half ago? I have been on the wrong end of a few high-risk, high reward transactions and once when I got ripped off by an eBay seller, eBay not only refunded me through a PayPal reversal, they also gave me a merchandise credit in the amount of $1000 for anything sold on eBay. This card later came up as a Buy-It-Now listing for the price of exactly $1000 and $10 for insured shipping. So I contacted eBay to verify that the voucher wasn't a scam, and jumped on this Ruth card, applied the voucher, and paid only $10 total (the shipping fee). I am a very happy camper!

I don't consider this my holy grail. My 62 Fleer Jack Kemp is my grail as I spent 7 years looking for a centered example. But here is my pre war holy grail.

My holy grail is my T215 Red Cross Purtell. This knocked a nice card off my Jersey City wantlist that I really never thought I would find in my price range.

Thanks,

At this particular moment in time, my T206 Magie is the 'holy grail', but only because I can't afford a Plank or Wagner. In the area of 'possibly-affordable but not owned', I would go with those two Mino Wagners on ebay.

Mine is 1914 CJ Marquard, PSA 7, perfect centering -- last I checked the only one at that level. No photo because it's at the banky....2nd would be Evers t206 brown Hindu PSA 4, also perfect centering....got both at good prices 15 yrs ago, pre-grading, and with little interest in backs....

WOW, beautiful Gehrig auto card!

Now I undrestand why you were putting up so many items for sale to raise money for a "once in a lifetime" purchase.

Thanks Phil! Haha yep, and I'm trying trying to sell more to payoff this card, so any help would be greatly appreciated :P hahaa. I couldn't let this go, signed Goudey's sell for $7,000+, but better auto's and condition. I don't care, Gehrig signed rookie, good enough for me.
