You are right about the many fine restaurants in the Reading area. A high concentration of them near the Show can be
found on Papermill Rd....which is off Rte. 422 (East). Take Rte. 12 from the Expo Center (11th St.) towards Reading and
turn onto Rte. 422. The Papermill Rd. exit is just a short distance from this junction.

For those of you on a budget (or those who just enjoy such food), there is a Bojangles Fried Chicken in Reading as well. I'm quite a fan of fried chicken, and the stuff offered at Bojangles is really great for a chain restaurant.

OK... Here's my plan:

Since I am on a budget (huge understatement), I will be eating FRIDAY, Feb 29 at the Jumbo China Buffet located at 3252 N 5th Street Highway in Reading. It's in a shopping center with a dollar store & supermarket. I will be getting there around noon or so if anyone wants to join me. Anyone is welcome to join. I'll be the puny looking slob.

You are 100% correct about Bojangles. Right before I read your thread, I was thinking I would stop by there either before or after the show. Great fried chicken puts KFC to shame.

Yup. Oh, and if anybody cares, the Bojangles is right across the street from the China Buffet where Alan is planning to go. I have never been to the Buffet, but have heard really good things about it--there is apparently a wonderful selection, including seafood.

I've never been to a Bojangles.... but I do like Fried Chicken.

I usually get a hot dog or something at the show.... but maybe I will venture out and grab a decent lunch.

Absolutely fantastic selection on the buffet (including seafood) & it also includes the hibachi selections plus the price is only $6.95 at lunch, which is about all I can afford.

You guys have the choice of affordable eateries right around that area. If some of you don't feel like Chinese, there is an American-style buffet right in that area, too.

Joe D.--If you're into fried chicken, you gotta check out Bojangles. You get a biscuit and choice of two sides. I'd recommend trying their dirty rice, and usually opt for the Cajun-style chicken. It's not overly spicy, but the seasoning is nice.

We can't all be as posh as you, Michael. A buddy of mine is from Long Island, and I sometimes tire of his incessant whining whenever the food selection is less than what is found in Manhattan. He (and you) are just fortunate to be from such a great food area. The problem is that, once you leave the island, it's all downhill from there!

If you're lookling for world-class fare, you're really heading to Hades. You will be lucky to encounter somebody with a full set of teeth. Everybody in that area cooks using lard. All the women are obese and sport hairdos reminiscent of the movie "Steel Magnolias". And please don't confuse the locals by discussing anything beyond NASCAR. Believe me, I've lived in that area for a couple of years.

There IS one good place to eat, however, that might even find favor with cuilnairy elitist Michael Sarno!
Google the Moselem Springs Inn. It was founded before the Civil War, and they offer an all you can eat prime rib and snow crab leg meal (with three veggies, salad and choice of soup) for $19.99! It's a hell of a deal, and delicious, too. It's about a 20-25 minute drive from the show venue, but they have tons of tables and you shouldn't have the same wait as someone else described above. They have always been able to seat me right away.

if you are going to bring them... you need to pronounce them correctly -
(notice how I can judge pronunciation by spelling)

you are bringing sangwiches. not sandwiches.
there is nothing like a good sangwich..... except maybe two good sangwiches


And while I haven't really met too many meals I didn't like.... and I can enjoy fine dining with the best of them.....

I also like fried chicken, pizza, and many other 'not-so-fine' dining choices.


Cutting to the chase -
If I had to choose my last meal.... it would be a nice juicy steak, maybe some nice seasoned potatoes on the side, possibly some creamed spinach, and a beer or three.
