Surprised I was able to bring this one home. Thought it might go higher. Love the player, love the pose. Pretty clean for a '14

Got this one from a board member. Really happy with this one. Better centered than my PSA 4.5 that I traded. I think this should be a 5! Thanks Gary.

I acquired a PC796 Speaker and Plank in the past couple of months, the first via eBay and the second via trade. Thus have I put to rest a set I started six years ago, and have also affirmed that anything is possible because I thought I wouldn't live long enough to get 'er done.

I buy the PSA 4 T206s because that's my affordability range. Bough this nice entertainment cabinet recently on Facebook yard sale to store them in.

That Joe D is gorgeous! And so nice to see a Hornsby; some days I just look at his stats and they make no sense. What a ballplayer.
Lefty Grove also seems not to get nearly enough love, considering all the league leader ink in his stat lines. Couldn't pass this up on eBay... Last edited by MattyC; 10-05-2016 at 10:12 PM. |

Holy hell, A.J. I can't believe that JoeJax is a '14. That's one of the cleanest examples I've ever seen. The edge integrity is pretty much flawless, which is damned near a miracle considering the paper weight. And those are some of the whitest borders I can recall any '14 CJ having. I had to do a double take to see even a hint of candy staining.
Just a fantastic card. I am so happy for you! Congratulations!!!

Josh congrats on winning this card. I was bidding against you. I didn't expect it to go for so much but it's an extremely rare card and I would love to own one in any condition. I'm scared to buy any extremely expensive cards off ebay so my only hope is waiting till the National in Chicago next July or hopefully one will pop up in REA or Heritage. After getting burned a few times off ebay buying PSA and SGC cards with cracked holders that are reglued...I think I'm sticking to buying in person. I see so many cards on ebay that are trimmed and reglued shut in PSA and SGC holders. Personally I wouldn't buy any Sgc graded cards unless I bought them in person as their holders are extremely easy to Crack open and reseal. It's tough to tell thru scans online. In person it's more obviously.
It pisses me off that so many crooks are out there. it's running this hobby we all love. I wish Joe Orlando would open his eyes more and make the PSA holders thicker and more difficult to break into like Beckett holders. My idea would be to make the outside border a dark color like black that way if the holder was tampered with, the clouding around the edges would way more noticeable in scans and in person. What are your guys thoughts on this matter? Last edited by maximus35; 10-16-2016 at 09:46 AM. |

I bought this one from Brockelman Auctions - my first T204 and it fits into my Jewish major leaguer collection. As I am not a T204 expert, so I am wondering if the tilt is "normal" for this set. This looks even nicer in person than in the scan, and I don't mind the back damage too much.
