SGC's pop report is all over the place when it comes to these PCs. I see only two Cubs team graded (my 50 and a 30) but I wouldn't be surprised if there were more. I actually bought mine raw.

Probably this real photo postcard of Ty Cobb because it's such a nice image. For more early baseball postcards and paper visit http://www.sportingoregon.com . Always buying!
The back story: The spectator who snapped the photo wrote on the back, "I may not be able to Ty Cobb but I can snap him. Taken at the Wilkes Barre and Detroit game Sunday, Sept. 24-11." Just before the end of the 1911 season, at about the time the Detroit Tigers were eliminated from the pennant race, the Tigers visited Boulevard Park for a game with the home town Wilkes Barre Barons, champions of the New York State League. The Tigers prevailed 3-2. Cobb went 0-3, so this image probably shows him recording an out. His teammate Sam Crawford was 4-4. Behind the plate that day for the Barons (and behind Cobb in this image) was Joe Briger, whose minor league career spanned 1907-1925. Last edited by bbpostcards; 11-28-2014 at 10:38 PM. |

I had one too, think it was a 60. But what makes your card great isn't the grade or jacked up pop report, it's the rare sporting life overprint on the back!

Leon, great Cobb, and nice cards everyone. Happy to add this one for my second son, so they'll both have a Ruth RC someday...

Im very thankful I was able to pick up a 15 card T210 Orange Border Lot including 9 I needed at the time. The pickup moved me to 17-20 of the subset and has stalled ever since. Made a play at a Munsell this month but was the underbidder. As for a single card the half Yellow Border Jones as rough as it is is the one this year. Not to many yellows out there im glad to have at least a partial example. Great cards everyone. Nice Benny Mike!

Even a football card guy can appreciate baseball cards once in a while. This is my favorite pickup from 2014.

1924 Diaz Johnny Couch. I don't have a scan of it, but I looked for that one for a few years before finally picking it up this summer.
