To all my friends,
I am overwhelmed by all these kind words. I had no idea there was a thread about it. We came down to Florida to visit and to help dad with his health needs. I put him to bed Thursday night and when I awoke Friday morning he was gone. I am so grateful to have spent the last day of my father's life with him. It was as if it were meant to be. I am at the airport now heading back to NY. Thank you again to a wonderful group of people.

Regards,
Judy and Barry

Barry,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. It sounds like he was peaceful when he passed and that should of some comfort.

I can empathize with what you're going through as I lost my dad in 1995. He was not only my father, but he was my best friend. It was his influence that got me into sports and collecting. I think of him every time I come to the board.

I wish you and your family well in this difficult time. You have my sincerest condolences.

Mark

Dear Barry,

While I never had the pleasure of knowing your father, I know his son. And from what I know of you, your Dad must have been one heck of a great guy.

My thoughts and prayers are with you, my friend.

I am home now and once again I want to thank everybody from the bottom of my heart for this outpouring of good wishes. I never knew I had so many friends. Somebody must have been watching over me this week, because I am still in awe that I was able to be with him in his final hours. He suffered terribly these past few months- his wife died in August and he gave up his will to live- so it is a blessing that his pain is over. He and his beloved wife will now be reunited. And to have to hear about the Connecticut tragedy on the same day he passed, what a strange and crazy world we live in. My best to all the members on Net54. You are a wonderful group of people.

Barry, I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my Dad in 2007 and he was my best buddy. I know where you are at right now. I just got his Pacific Ocean Chart framed that he used as a commanding officer of a subchaser in World War II . I was in looking at it thinking of him and your Dad. Bill

Barry, sorry to hear about your Dad. My Dad passed away in 1987 and I still miss him. I put a baseball in his casket, "Thanking him for teaching me to throw a curve ball" Signed "Joey", as he knew me growing up.

Joe.
