Have to many to count, I was at one time buying all I could find, a PSA (MK) was my calling card. I have countless date stamps, quite a few Beantown squares, and other odds and ends. I guess it goes back to my stamp collecting days, I loved SON fancy cancels, date stamps, etc. First scan is my only T210 backstamped, would love to get some more T210's, if you have any PM or e-mail me. Thx

I don't think the "AB" stamp has been shown yet. The Willie D. marked card turned up years ago in Arlington Heights Il. A bit off the focus... I have some Zeenuts with typewriter mark "Jack Donovan".

Do we know anything about the 'FS' typewritten letters? Was that what F Scott used when he didn't have ink for his rubber 'F' stamp?

I also have, had a Russell W Seward stamped T206. I just traded it for another F.F. Baker stamped back. So my collection of Bakers has grown to 9 from 4 in 3 days thanks to 3 different board members. Isn't thus little group of nerds that collect pictures of dead men a great little community? I thank everyone for looking out for Baker stamps. Maybe some day I can put most of his collection back together 100 years after he stamped them as his. Pretty cool if you asked me, but I'm easily amused.

Here's a T-206 Tommy Leach signed on the back by former 19th Century big leaguer (albeit briefly) Charles (Chas.) Kelly. The second photo is an enhanced version so that the writing is a little easier to make out. Looks like he wrote his address on the card. I discovered that this location is a few blocks from where he may have played.

I did a little checking on F.F. Baker, he was born Frederick Frank Baker Jan 25 1903 and died November of 1973 in Richmond, Virginia. It appears he lived in the Richmond area his entire life. He and his family are at 1318 Mosby in 1930, prior to 1920 it was known as Mechanicsville Turnpike, but the house number was still 1318. His father owned a grocery store in 1910 and 1920 according to census data, presumably it may have been at the same location. Thus he probably had easy access to cigarette cards from the customers. One of these two buildings is the store, I am pretty sure it's the gray two story. one.http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&cl...ed=0CB8Q8gEwAA |

Great research. Thanks for the facts. My Portland theory was debunked in an earlier thread. My memory as how I thought that eludes me but we did track him down to Virginia. I never did know his full name or that his family owned a grocery store. Young Fredrick sure did have access to a steady supply of T206's. Can we see him standing at the counter as customers bought packs and asking for the card? Or maybe dad told his customers his son was a collector. What a great story. Maybe someday as Paul Harvey might have said, I'll know the rest of the story. Still hunting more for the collection.

In New Hampshire 22 years ago, I picked up an original complete N162 set with each of the 50 cards stamped in purple ink..........
"E. S. Richardson. Danvers, Mass." Also, this purple alpha-numeric stamp is sometimes found on T206 cards. I have both letters and numbers examples of this stamp on T206's. This T206 is the Mike Powers card. ![]() TED Z |

I hope the images come up, but I did a little research and found that Pacpic Street was in Perth Amboy, NJ down by the waterfront near the Outerbridge Crossing and rail yards but was demolished some years ago to make way for a condo development. It was a Polish/Czech/Slavic community as well, so the Slavick name also makes sense for the street address.

Been meaning to scan this for awhile. Fancy stuff at the bottom. It's not written on the back, it was stamped on I guess. Don't know what it is but I like it!

There are a total of 30 more that I know exist, and I know the owners of 6 of those. The rest have been "lost" over time as they have traded hands, been part of other deals, etc. The most recent are the four Hindu-backed Southern Leaguers who were part of the Hindu run of Southern Leaguers in the last REA auction. Knew the three different owners of those four at one time, but have now moved them to the "lost" column in my data base.
Howe's known collection would stand at 321. Until some more turn up.
