In 1951, his manager Charlie Dressen, who was "capable of cruelty", failed to play him on "Cal Abrams Day."

Mr. Nuxhall...always cool to see one of his cards, every kid reads about his pitching debut at 15...can't even imagine! Went about as well as expected, so cool he stuck with it and managed a pretty decent career...
