Scary close, thanks t206hound. I notice that the art work seems to have a belt buckle on the side, were any players known to wear their belts like that?
Maybe a player that also played stand up bass A lot of guitar players wear their belts like that to avoid scratches.

Thanks Chris, the sharing of this collection and the responses here, make keeping the collection more than worthwhile.

Not to hijack this thread as I love the collection and the website. but........

It seems I have seen this picture a few times but never noticed the size of that baseball bat in his hands before. Dang, Is that a fence post or something? That thing is huge!

Well Andrew, in that picture, Evers looks like he might have moonlighted for the Chicago mafia.

I think it was common for players to wear their belt buckle to the side. When sliding, they didn't want any sharp metal objects near vulnerable spots.

Jeremy, can you point me to any game photos with players wearing their belts like that? Thanks.

Wow Jeremy, thanks so much. I just spent some time looking at the "Bill's Ty Cobb Photos" thread and I'm sure I'll spend a great deal more time on that site. I also had a "duh" moment. With the uniforms having a belt loop front dead center, it would really be awkward fastening a buckle in that spot.

The Macon Peach site will close down in a week due to the end of the sites' teaser rate, which will blow up by almost 4 times what it was when I started.
Since there was never any profit motive and this was a non selling site, the one way expense seems to be a bit much.

I trust everybody in the hobby has seen it and I thank the so many of you who positively responded to my grandmas collection; it was very heart warming.

I never got the chance to finish it the way I wanted to due to time constraints and personal issues, but there's always a chance that I may find the time and another teaser rate in the future. I suppose I'll lose the domain "themaconpeach", but there's always other names.

I'll continue to read net54 on the rare occasions when time allows and I'm really glad to have had everybody here help me through my maze of card learnedness, it was an education. A special thanks to Leon, who was there from the very beginning hipping me to who was who in the hobby, which proved to be a time and money saving tutorial.

If there ever is a new and improved version, I'll add it to this thread.
