I don't know autographs that well, but it seems even though he died in 1955 his autograph is not rare...I was just guessing.

Dan, there are other factors involved then just the autograph itself. People collect the various Topps sets (or team sets from the set itself) autographed and obviously if anyone tries to get the 1954 set they need this card--thus the MUCH higher price tag. Similar players with high price tags are the likes of Jim Umbricht, Ken Hubbs, Walt Bond, etc. You would be surprised what some will pay for a seemingly obscure auto on a Topps card.

I am working on a 55 topps dodgers team sets and Hoak, spooner and hamric are all semi-tough for different reasons and run about 300..funny so does the hi number Hodges!

I can say with pretty near certainty that I know of a collection that contains a '54 Bowman Fox. I have never seen a '54 Topps signed. edit: nevermind, it is a '52 Bowman, sorry about that Jeff
