That's a cool find.....Quan, I think have seen a one or two blank back E98s before as well....the Vaughan is tough in any condition...the only I could find years ago putting my set together had an Old Put stamp on it.

Have we ever conclusively determined how they were printed? Because I was playing around a bit more and kept the relationship between the cards the same but placed the bottom sheet on top of the top sheet. So, again, if you look at Mastro Sheet and then you look at this one, you can see that it looks like the bottom sheet could have gone on top.

The leap of faith comes in the relationship between the bottom of the Steinfeldt card and the top of the Birmingham card. If that looks right to everyone than that could be a link.

That would make one sheet which was 6 players wide and 5 tall. 30 cards per sheet.



Still geeking out on this. I just put in the missing players (dimly) in the background. I saw an old thread in the archives from Peter Ullman, Quan and Jim B where they were talking about the corrected sheet having Steinfeldt's name correctly spelled along with Cy Young (cleveland version), Nichols (Cleveland) and Sullivan (Boston). Since Steinfeldt is the only card we have to go by, I put the others in as suggested in the thread below.

yes jerry...and i think that e98 young blank back i saw also had a red background like these
