Fake Gehrig on Ebay?
I'm new here on the board, but I am a 21 year collector of baseball signatures. Glad to have the opportunity to be a part of such a knowledgeable group here.
There is a current auction running on Ebay for what appears to me to be a bad fake of a Lou Gehrig signature, and the seller is really trying to push its authenticity, but he has started at a very low price. I'm a real story teller
It's real, it's just a misprint in the title. That's Leo Gehrig's signature, not Lou's. Probably just an honest mistake.
 Leo shined shoes in New York during the 40's.  Ruth used to tease him all the time about his name, but always left him a big tip.That's him in the cap. Somebody, who was bidding throughout, actually paid $219 for this piece of paper.
I just read the entire auction. This seller really could not have a HS diploma. If he does then wherever he went to school should be ashamed. If this is an example of the American educational system, than we really are in trouble. His use of the English language is laughable or sad, not sure which.

Another case where the buyer and bidders were hoodwinked into believing what they wanted to be truth, that a Gehrig could actually be gotten for $219.
