That's really strange. Are we to assume none of those bids were real? That's impossible.
I think some of the bids were real however after the bidding frenzy and subsequent retractions I don't see how anyone could have faith in the auction or any of the remaining bids. The seller did the right thing and cancelled the auction and will be wiser (we hope) in setting up the next listing.
