Exactly. At that time, the Championship teams carried the "Champions" title with them throughout the next year. This can be seen in their W601 composites as well.

When you look at the subjects and their teams in the Postcard set, it is obvious that they were made at the end of the 1906 season - right after the World Series. For example, Rossman is shown with Cleveland - his 1906 team. He was traded to Detroit in December of 1906. The Sporting Life was pretty meticulous on updating all of their issues, so it is fairly safe to assume that the Postcard set was issued before this transaction took place.
