Fellow Collectors:
I have started my first "backs" collection with the Larry Doyle Holding Bat T-206 card. Can anyone tell me the total known backs for this card? Thank you in advance for your assistance. V/r, Paul

Just wanted to add that I think you picked a great card of a great player. This Doyle is one of my favorites in my signed T206 card collection:

Thank you for the responses. I went with the Doyle because I picked up a card that had very good eye appeal. Did some research into Doyle's history, loved the look of the card, and decided to go with his card. It may take awhile to get all of the backs, but I'm in no hurry!
Again, thank you!

Larry Doyle (1886-1974) “Laughing Larry” Doyle finished in the top 10 in the National League in batting average five times, including 1915, when he finished first with a .320 batting average. Six times, Doyle finished in the top ten in home runs, and Doyle twice led the League in hits (in 1909 with 172 and 1915 with 189). Doyle was the second baseman for the 1911, 1912 and 1913 pennant-winning Giants.

Also the 1912 MVP. Should be in the Hall in my opinion.

I'm quite partial to Mr. Doyle since he was such an accommodating signer of pre-war cards. I've got him on E95, T205, all three T206 and T201. And his signature is usually quite clear and in a good place on the card.

Whoa nice cabinet. Really cool piece. Is is just a photo mounted?

Got it from Scott and Leon's first auction. Was listed as "uncatalogued". It is, as you say, a mounted photo on cardboard backing. Lettering appears to be stenciled. No other identifying features. Never had a chance to post it before so I thought I'd sneak it into this thread.

Hi Paul
Best luck on your adventure. I can tell you that you need not search for an American Beauty 460 card of your Doyle. It is a No-Print. But, there is a good likelihood that this Doyle was printed with a Broad Leaf 460 back. Regards, TED Z |

Thanks for all of the information, guys! I appreciate your knowledge on my behalf!
I just got hit with a big tax bill this year, so my buying will be slowed for the next month or so until the coffers can be refilled. Again, thank you! V/r, Paul
