A really good paper conservator might be able to do it, but I'd bet it would cost more than the programs are worth.
Most of the book guys rebind stuff where the binding has come apart, and usually that means new glue. It also depends on what sort of glue was used. If it was a fairly old book finelt bound it would probably have some sort of glue that can be undone. But being a 1960's binding for a commercial concern the glue is probably permanent. Also most book repairs are done so they can be identified as repairs. Hardly noticable to us, but to a book expert the repairs are obvious I'd keep the bound volume, it looks like a pretty special item. Does it have library markings? I'm thinking it might also be bound for the printing company or for a major sponsor. Steve |
