The past decade, I focused a lot on early pennants. Here are a few of my favorites...

I must concur with Mike. Absolutely spectacular pennants Mark.

I was so focused on photos the last several years, I really missed the boat on pennants and pins. When I see stuff like this, I could just kick myself.

Anyway, terrific stuff Mark.

Thanks Mike and Jimmy...

There's a good news/bad news scenario with early pennants. Bad news is that most of the great/oversized ones are mired in advanced collections (and aren't going anywhere for some time). There's been a sharp drop-off in recent years, of quality pennants being available. Where there used to be a dozen or so available in every Lelands, Mastro or Hunts Catalog, now there might be 1 or 2.

The good news is that when they do come available, prices are currently down (due to the crappy ecomomy). So it's an ideal time to pounce, if you see one you like that comes available. When you search ebay with the word "pennant" you'll see 98% crap (new mass produced stuff).

So I always check off the search by "highest price first" criteria. I also used to do well searching by the word "penant". Lots of people mis-spell it, and some really good ones used to fall under the radar. Some people call them flags or banners as well, so it sometimes helps to search those words.

Default Not only is this one of the most famous images of the "Mick"

I picked it up several years ago for just over fifty bucks.

Famous image used for his Dan-Dee card as well as his Stahl Meyer and countless magazines, newspapers, etc.

Vintage original TYPE I photograph...
