Default Original Signed Virgil Ross "Bat" Boy Sketch from "Baseball Bugs"

Of the very many characters Ross animated, he is most closely associated with Bugs Bunny, but also did a great deal of work involving Daffy Duck, Yosemite Sam, Tweety, and many others, including Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote.

Virgil Ross received the highest awards available in his profession: the Motion Picture Screen Cartoonists Golden Award (1984) and the Winsor McCay Award (1988). Four of the cartoons he had animated won Oscars.

Nice lineup card from the Padres. 1984 was the year after I moved to San Diego and became a Padre fan so that brings back some great memories. 8/31 was a doubleheader against the mets...they split.

Thanks!! I visited San Diego 2 yrs ago in the summer and absolutely loved it. As a Yankee fan seeing Ed Whitson's name on the lineup card made me cringe a little.

Well, I'm also a big Yankee fan so I understand about Whitson. Not sure why the Boss wanted him so bad. He was a pretty good journeyman pitcher but you just knew he would get lit-up in the American League

Jimmy:

Your Virgil Ross Original Illustration is to die for... an original Bugs Bunny drawing from the hand that created him... amazing pickup! That was one of my favorite cartoon episodes of all-time. Congrats!

A big thank you to our own Mark S. (Perezfan) for making these pieces available for my collection.

The first is an 8 1/2" figural trophy. I've never seen another example of this piece and am thrilled with it.

The second is a 16" trophy cup with a terrific figural of equipment on the face. The handles have intricate scroll work that gives this piece an ellegent look I love.
