Well? C'mon guys - who's going to answer the email and find out where it goes? What a riot. Sometimes I swear these writings from foreigners with the broken English are written by some guy in Iowa or something. The language mistakes are so hilarious they seem like they have to be made up.

There are at least 2 suspect emailers to choose from; and, one is on Facebook.
My guess is, therein lies the connection. And strange enough, this "emailer" thinks we are the new "hip crowd" from Studio 54. The famed disco hangout in the '70s in NYC on 54th Street. ![]() |

I love facebook! I've never gotten anything sketchy from facebook.
my theory is someone targeted card guys because of the stereotypical view society has, is that most card collectors are single with money and cards/toys. You know, like the 40 year old virgin movie! They don't know about the strip joint in every city and escort services used by a lot of card guys in the 70's/80's. The card business used to be fun! Now, like I tell everyone, it is a shell of its former self. |

Listening to Zappa's What Kind of Girl on the White Album changing the words from music star to card guy and changing hit record to graded Cobb card!
Gotta love it, card groupies! |

Here's the good news and the bad news.
Good news: this targeted every message board on network54.com, not just ours. They weren't targeting "card guys". Bad news: You are all likely now on a major spam list. Here's how the little scam works, they write a computer program to go through the millions of posts to extract any email addresses they find. Then they send an email to all of the addresses. If it doesn't "bounce" then they know they have a legit active email address that they can sell to other spammers. All you can do about it is NOT post your email address to any forums (network54, the old site had some serious privacy issues) and get some good anti-spam software. |

I'm surprised a few board members haven't come on to defend the person who sent the email. After all, she's a great guy with a great reputation and would never send an inappropriate email even though "she" just sold your email address to a spam company for 1/10 of one cent.
