I assume that's a PhotoShop job and not PSA giving their opinion on which way the card should be displayed?

David:
I hate to tell you this. I mean I really don't want to be the one to break it to you. In fact, I hope someone may have PMed you and I am not the one to break this to you. I live by the credo: "No one loves the messenger that brings bad news." Who knows there is a tiny possibility that I could be wrong and besides it's not the end of the world if I'm right - you have a fabulous collection anyway. But...again, I didn't want to be the one to break this to you, buuuttttt that's not Buzz Arlett. It's Alexander Arlett (his brother). No big deal. He wasn't such a bad player, anyway. I almost made the same mistake too. Last edited by Cat; 11-03-2009 at 01:14 PM. |

As usual T.H.E. Cat is correct. While both Buzz and Pop played for Oakland in 1918 the player pictured is Alexander "Pop" Arlett.
Damn nice card though. 1918 is widely recognized as the toughest of all zeenut issues mainly due to the War. I think too, though not as often mentioned, that the influenza outbreak of 1918 may have played a role. |
