The circular Chicago Cubs tin reminds me of the most surreal antique buying trip in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Maine about 10 years ago. After having spent several summers not finding anything much in Nova Scotia, we started on a trip to Maine, stopping at antique stores along the way as a plan.
The first two stores--bam--the Chicago Cubs tin in each store. By the time we hit southern Maine a week later, I had found 8 of these tins -- and not much of anything else baseball. |

Just got this in the mail today...it's a circa 1890s cabinet photo of the Ames Avenue Omaha street Railway team. Couldn't fit the whole thing on my scanner.
Marsh was a prominent Omaha photographer whose photos appeared in Harpers. ![]() ![]()
