Another Gagnier -Lincoln postcard surfaces

Some of you may remember a thread I started a couple of years ago about a generic postcard I found with stampings for Gagnier (shortstop Lincoln).

Now thanks to forum member Bob C (PGACPA) I have added a much better specimen to my collection. I'm still wondering if anyone has ever seen another card like this. My suspicion is that the Lincoln club took generic cards and had them printed up for their players, although Gagnier is the only one I've yet to see.

If you look at the old thread you will see my other Gagnier card and you can see that they placed the stamping at his feet on that one whereas the stamping on this one is at the top.

This postcard is dated July 1907; your other one is dated August 1908. According to baseballreference.com, Gagnier played for Lincoln in both years. Maybe the Lincoln team issued postcards in both years, and for whatever reason, no others have yet surfaced.

Hal, I was thinking the same thing....before the 1907 one came to me I assumed that maybe Guy W. Green had something to do with making the cards since he had purchased the team in late 1907....he was the owner of the Nebraska Indians and was keen on selling postcards of that team. Now I can see that possibly the team had these cards made before Green purchased the club.
