Apologies in advance for what I know is an elementary-level T206 question: When a card with a vertical pose is miscut so that a player's name from a different card can be seen on the top border, is that "extra" player's name typically different or the same as the one on the primary (bottom of the) card? Is there a 100 percent rule on this, or can there sometimes be a different player's name and sometimes the same player? |

Most of the time it's the same, but on occasion you will find a different player at the top (did I understand your question correctly?). |

From my experience in my quest to conquer The Monster, most of the time T206 miscuts have the same player's name, but as always there are exceptions. |

Here's a link to a healthy discussion on the board about T206 sheets. You'll see an Obak sheet posted, and some discussion about same name top/bottom, and different name top/bottom miscuts. |

The only miscut I own in my run at the monster... his name faintly appears again on top. Kinda makes that one special to me. |

But regarding miscuts with one name on bottom and a different name on top, are they very rare? I was looking thru my t206 raw cards and passed by a Killian, Detroit with a Chance, Chicago, Nat'l on top. About 30-40% of Chance's name shows on top. Something like this is rare or harder to find?

Not sure if this will answer your question, but for about two years now I have been documenting images of T206s with either the same name on the top & bottom or different names on the top & bottom. I pull scans from just about any source. So far I have 124 scans and here is the breakdown. 117 - Name is the same on top & bottom of card. 7 - Name is different on the top & bottom. So far Herzog-Boston is in the lead with three examples. I also have three examples of Needham, but the one version only has his name on top with no name on the bottom, so I remain unsure about that example. I know two of the three backs for the Herzogs and they are Polar Bear & Piedmont 350-460. I have been looking for an example of two differents names on one card, but I still haven't seen one inperson for sale yet. So I consider them rare. Hope this helps & if you want to see some scans of a certain player just ask. Jantz |

Thanks,
Mine has the full Killian name on bottom, but not the full Chance name up top although its easy by the partial letters to tell who it was, I will try to post a scan and would love to see some of yours with two different names. thanks, george |

as promised here is my Killian/Chance bottom top name combo along with a few other miscuts I found. I thought the Oldring was cool. Only one I found out of a huge piedmont collection of close to 500 cards with full name top and full name bottom. Both names are Oldring though.
