Lets revisit a new forum hosting s/w solution possibility

When I started this forum, the N54 software was if not cutting edge, at least very up to date. In the intervening years they have done very little to update the software and there is certainly a lot of better software providers now with a multitude of new features which would make the forum a better place.
I know all of the mods at one time or another have investigated moving the forum to a new provider, but the archives were always the primary stumbling block.
However, N54 seems unwilling (or unable) to improve their software, so a move is inevitable. Therefore, I feel a move sooner is probably better than later.
Since we don't want to make this move too often, it certainly makes sense to do a thorough analysis of the alternatives (and Leon certainly seems to have gone far down this road) to ensure that the right provider is selected.
I would certainly be willing to do whatever I could to help with the process.
