Default personal collecting questions

Posted By: David McDonald

1. What is your focus today, in collecting?
Trying to finish an E93 set (need 6 cards) I started last year and a '33-'34 WWG Ice Kings hockey set (need 7 cards). Otherwise my focus is unfocused, just like to jump on the occasional killer card.

2. What are the 3 cards you need most?
Any of the E93s I lack, an IK Howie Morenz and if there is a Zeenut Oana with coupon in excellent eye-appeal condition out there somewhere I want it.

3. Do you like to trade, buy, or a combination when you do acquire your needs?
Mostly buy but have conducted several win-win trades with board members of late.

4. Has the economy forced you to sell things you wouldn't have otherwise?
**** the economy.

5. What is your absolute favorite series, why?
That's like asking OctoMom which is her favorite baby. Guess I lean toward the "painted" sets: '53 Topps, '33 Goudeys, Turkey Reds etc. Why? They are miniature works of art that idealize our beloved National Pastime. House on fire? Probably grab the T3s first.

6. How do you enjoy acquiring your cards most- Ebay, auction, BST, shows etc...?
Something to be enjoyed no matter how cards are acquired. Most awesome cards generally come from auction. BST is great because of the personal communication with other collectors. Shows I have been to have been Big Fun, like Toys'R'Us for cardboard junkies.

7. What do you do for a living, how old are you and where do you live?
Retired Professional Land Surveyor, pushin' sixty, and live in Honolulu.
