I would like to take a moment to post my thoughts on a company that was at the Philly show. Sportscard Guaranty Grading Company. |

The service you received is what we slabheads have grown to expect from this fine company. |

A while back I called SGC on the phone and received what I thought was poor customer service and stated such on the board. |

I love that word Steve! I think I first heard that from Leon and died! I hope it isn't degrading as I use it regularly. Dan. |

SGC treated me the same way this weekend at the show. The turn around time on my cards was incredable-about an hour. Brian also took the time to explain to me the reason for the grades given. SGC/Brian Thank you. |

Though SGC does quality work, I think we are seeing the dividends of being fortunate enough to hire a quality person to a job and then letting him do it. I said as much in a thread last year about "new guy Brian". SGC was lucky enough to hire him and smart enough to get out of the way and let him do his job. |

"Though it is blasphemous on this board, YOU GOT THAT RIGHT, DAN if psa had hired Brian I can imagine we (probably not Dan though) would be saying similar things about psa. DAN, ARE YOU SAYING THAT IF psa HIRED BRIAN THEY WOULD HAVE FIRED J.O.? IF THAT'S THE CASE THEN psa WOULD HAVE TAKEN A STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. AINT THE CASE THOUGH... Also, better add ME to that list with Dan McK. I don't think I'll ever like the bunch of bozo's at psa. |

I am not saying they would have fired Joe Orlando. I am saying that Brian if good enough that is PSA had been fortunate enough to hire him and let him handle customer service many of us would be impressed with PSA. However from your yelling I will add you to this list of those who wouldn't be impressed. |

I sent some cards to be graded at the show since I could not attend. I could not have been happier with the service. Top notch all the time. Mike G and Brian are great company resources!!!! |

I had my first in-person experience with the SGC folks at last year's national. Courteous, timely, and fair. For this year's national, I plan on bringing a bunch of PSA-graded cards and having them re-slabbed in SGC's much more attractive holders (hope they meet or exceed the minumum grades so I don't need to keep them PSA!). I think they do a great job with pre-war material and that's all I collect, so my whole collection will eventually be SGC. |

Glad to hear about Dan's positive experience. SGC once mislabled one of my submissions. I called and it was resolved within a week! I really like their customer service. Everytime I have spoken to a person live..I got my answer within minutes. I didn't have too many SGC cards prior to joining this board..but now I get all my prewar and odd ball post war type cards graded by them. The black borders and their ability to configure their inserts to most card shapes are a big plus! |

The only complaint I have against SGC is that "tougher" grading isn't necessarily "better" grading. |
