Brian T: I picked up the postcard (entitled "The Batter") at the Chicago National but have seen it at least a couple of times on eBay since. I don't think it is particularly scarce. Robert Robinson was a prominent magazine illustrator during the first part of the last century. He did a lot of Saturday Evening Post covers. Of the many postcards he illustrated there are at least four with baseball subjects. Following is a link to a past Robert Edward auction that shows the four. (Is it Wagner? Maybe yes, maybe no . . . ). |
