Well, I picked up a card the other day of Ferd Schupp that upon first glance appears to be an E121 (Series of 80) card of him but it just looked strange so I bought it. I get it today, and I am kinda unsure what to make of it. The card has been graded by SGC as an E121 Series of 80 (grade 50 VGEX). |

Do we have any other E121 Ferd cards around to see if there is something going on with his card in particular? Just for the record why couldn't this just be different font American Caramel (or their printer) used? They could have stopped the presses, changed fonts quickly, and started back producing? Or was it way too involved, back in the day, to do that? |

I thought the E121 had an 80 series along with a 120 as well. |

Rhett - good call - the image quality looks much more like an E122 then an E121. |

Does anybody have a Schupp card from the E122 set? Is there any posibility that his card doesn't have the name in the gray box like all the others? |

The picture quality and font appear to be from the W501 series but it lacks the 501 numbers along the top and obviously not a blank back. I checked all of my E122s (no Schupp) but they are all share the format like the Doak card. Very interesting card. This is why I love this hobby. |

Actually, my thinking is similar to Kevin's in that I believe this card is actually an E122 Ferd Schupp, and instead of leaving the name/pos/team visible through the frame they placed on the E121 cards they remade (which is the set we call E122), they had his name/pos/team on the frame up they did. |

Nice find. Looks like they left off the gray box to me too. |

The typeset is different too--Rhett's card is all capitals, the other is not. |

And the "D" in Ferd is bizarrely large. |
