Default Kickoff for Old Cardboard Hold'em 2009 Series Tonight

Posted By: Lyman

The January tournament played last evening was great fun for all. In total, 17 players battled for top spot but in the end Rawn Hill of South Paris, Maine proved to be King of the Hill. Rawn insists that this was the first time EVER that he has played Texas Hold'em (sure Rawn, and if we believe that then you will be telling us that you have an Eifel Tower for sale (to be shipped direct from South Paris)!! Actually, Rawn played lots of poker (not Hold'em) in the Navy and has spent many hours watching Hold'em on TV. "It's just beginner's luck," says Rawn. Whatever! Anyway, congratulations Rawn for a well earned win.

Detailed results of the January tournament will be posted on the Old Cardboard website later this week. Meanwhile, Old Cardboard Tournament #2 for 2009 is now open for registration. It is PokerStars #136999776 set for February 24 at 20:30 ET (7:30 Texas Time); password for registration is e107e107.

Thanks again for all who participated. Hope to see you at the tables next month.

Lyman

PS: will "bobw2000" who played in last evenings tournament please send me an email at editor@oldcardboard.com. Thanks, LJH
