If I were a betting person I would bet lunch a Matty won't get posted. Personally I have never seen one but an example or two certainly might exist. One other thing....I don't think these are Derby Cigar cards...It's a hobby/urban myth perpetuated, imo....I would almost guarantee it. They are on paper thin stock and won't fit in a Derby pack (at least the type I have)...This excerpt below is from Lew Lipset's Encyclopedia, all 3 volumes, page 103....even he says it's not conclusive about their origin....but the hobby has made it so. I am not positive but I believe this is precisely where the myth started. Again, I don't think Lew started the myth it just kind of took off from here.... regards |
