Is the shine off rookie card collecting?

While I have patterned my collection after Hal & Sergio, I don't have the funds to go after the cards that they acquired in mid-high grade so I usually wind up with a lot of SGC 10's, 20's & 30's but as long as I fill another hole in my collection, I don't worry too much about the condition.
