The card market is certainly volatile. An SGC 30 E97 Rossman (I think this same one) sold in Chicago at the National for $400 in 2006 and 2 years later I picked it up for around $275. I was busy watching the Survivor finale and keeping one eye on ebay and so missed out on bidding on the Nichols Phila. variation which went for $399 to stumpy, a colossal pick up, I thought the card would go for a grand easily.
