What would you do if you were given 1 million dollars to spend only on baseball cards... I guess I would start by completing high grade 33 Goudeys, T206, and Mantle sets but I guess that is what the average collector would do...Any other opinions? |

if i had 1 mil to blow on cards i wouldn't worry about cards that retained their value. if i have a mil to blow on cards i'm probably not too worried on future returns. i'd pick up the cards i've always wanted, maybe a real nice t227 set or try to put together the allen and ginter sets. i've always loved the artwork for both of those issues. i also would love to put together an m101-4 set. i don't know if there are any completed ones or not but i love that set because it features actual photographs. the one thing i definitely wouldn't do is spend the whole thing on cards i thought someone with a million dollars "should have", i.e. those high dollar t206's or 52 mantles. |

I would contact Jeff L. and see if he would sell me a few of his cards. |

With 1 million, I would piece together a Smokey Joe Wood player collection, pick up an E107 (regular back) Jimmy Collins, and start working on a Morehouse Baking Red Sox set. My guess is that I will have some left over, so I would continue to add to my Red Sox type collection. |

I have watchlisted around 40 items on REA that total (so far) at $385K ($452K with vig). If I had a million dollars to spend on cards I'd go for broke on all of them. As it is, I may have a run at just a couple. |

I would buy a maximum of 20 Monster cards, not condition rarities but classic & rare cards |

I would buy as many PSA 8 T206's with short borders as I could. Then I would sell them. I need a big write off |

Finish off the monster. grab a high grade 1914 CJ set, 1933 Goudey and 1952 Topps. There is simply no fun in grabbing all these cards at once. IMO there is too much fun and knowledge lost when optaining complete sets in one swoop. I prefer the chase..

I doubt I have any cards that are worth a relative lot of money anymore since selling off some of my 19th Century prizes......But the others are a lot of fun too. Money certainly wasn't why I started collecting but making a few bucks while enjoying the hobby has been a lot of fun too. Whomever said that the hunt is a lot/most of the fun is entirely correct, imo.. The friendships made are a big part of it too......regards |

If i had a million to spend, i probably wouldn't change too much from what i have been doing, though it may (or may not) increase the pace of my activities. |

If I had a million to spend on cards, my head would explode. I've tried answering this question three times in the last five minutes and I keep changing my mind. |
