Do you display the back damage?

One of my favorite cards is my signed T206 card of Zack Wheat. It has been signed by Wheat on both the front and the back. Now, the back is also horribly disfigured by paper loss and other glue/paper damage, but the signature is there nonetheless. The question is -- would you display both sides? Or just the front, with a description that it has been signed on the back? Please note: I am just asking for display purposes. If I sold, the answer would be to show both sides -- or at least describe the back as really beaten up.



Also, if you have back beaters that you're proud of, this would be a good place to show them off!

I would display both sides due to the double autograph. Had it not been signed on the back as well I probably would have just stuck with showing the front.

If Zach Wheat was not so turned off by the condition of the back that he wouldn't sign it, I don't know why you would feel that hiding it may be appropriate. Unless you think that the back was glued after he signed it. Could somebody do that? Yes, but I never met him.

The back isn't bad.

...all my front/back-signed cards with both front and back images. It makes for some funky website table work, and I am a novice. I contemplated just keeping the fronts of these, but I have thus far been showing both. If people felt that it made sense to just show the front, I might be persuaded to do so. But I am currently in the show both sides camp.

I show both sides of everything I have. To me, that is what the cards are, warts and all. Personal taste for the individual. I agree that if you are selling, you should show both sides.

As a matter of fact, I have a few cards that come to mind when I think
"back" first.
The Red Sun series, the Mello Mints, Lou Gertenrich, but especially this one of Otto Knabe shown here :

As a back collector I usually show both front and back....unless the back is blank and clean.....This one has a stain at top but it's not really a beater...I have often thought about cracking it and using a cue tip and water on the stain but have decided to just leave it. It doesn't bother me too much....regards

I always show the backs of cards if selling' and disclose any defect that scans don't pick up!

Scans are always available and would be provided to collectors who have any interest, doesn't mean the card for sale!
