If one concluded that the dots were "airbrushed", it might also correspond with the "NY" used by the Highlanders that shows up on Hal Chase's E90, or the "N Y" that shows up on that set's Keeler and Sweeney. It might have been an updating in line with the Cubs cards, albeit in an earlier print run. I don't have immediate access to the uniform timeline for the team, but I mention this as a possibility for discussion.
