My Doolan is SGC 30 -- a tad oversized, but rounded, even wear. My Knabe has a crease down the middle and I believe is trimmed on all four sides, but is not terribly undersized. Such a low-grade example, that any trimming it may have does not increase its overall condition!

thanks Marc- the reason i ask, is that a few collectors, including myself, are not sure if there are any 5's, or 6's out there (there is the one PSA 7 griffith batting)...other than that, there might not be any graded above a 4...

I thought the John Titus Drum back that is known (perhaps owned by Brian W?) is a PSA 5. There may be more than one Titus Drum, but I do seem to recall that...

brian can confirm, but i think his highest graded drum is also a PSA 4 (he has a handful of drums, BTW)...

I also know of a PSA 4 Speaker that I have regretted not buying from SCP for about twelve years now. Other than the Griffith you mentioned, I have not seen any others better than vg/ex.

All these are 150/350 Series cards....it is impossible for these fronts to have been printed on DRUM backs.

The DRUM backs are only associated with Subjects in the 350-only, or 350/460 Series.

Thanks for that very comprehensive list of your 112 confirmed DRUM's. I compared it with my list of 88 cards;
and, I find three missing in yours....

Moeller
Schmidt (throw)
Street (fldg)

The Moeller is mine (pix shown here....very "pretty" isn't it ?)
The Schmidt (throw) appears on Bill Brown's Super Set spread sheet
The Street (fldg) belongs to a friend of mine in the mid-west

Also, I will add Chase (blue portrait) to this mix, as I saw this card back in 1980's at the Willow Grove Show.
This Chase rounds out the field on the Six Super Prints

I'm surprised at the lack of pictures, usually every one likes to show-off their rare backs.

I know there are some nicer ones than my Moeller....HA ! I acquired this DRUM from Barry
Sloate back in 1985....actually I won it from him on a bet that we had.

That "dancing" pose of Jennings is on at least 17 different T-backs. It certainly was a very popular pix of him.
Do you think this Jennings might eventually show up with a Broad Leaf 460 back ?

As a 350/460 card we know this pose cannot exist with a BL 350 back.

Come on Net54ers....let's have some more posts here on these really tough DRUM's.

Thanks to Art, we have accounted for 114 subjects in the T206 issue with DRUM backs.
This number represents approx. 50% of all the cards possible with the DRUM backs.

I don't think it will change much....the REA find of 30 - UZIT backs didn't lower the value of those cards.

But aren't there 2 or 3x the number of Uzit cards out there then Drum? 30 cards hitting the market is a lot; I kind of compare that to the discussion about the PSA 8 T206 cards going through ebay recently and the volume of them softening the market place? Being they put most of those Drum cards (I think there are 31 actually) into multi card lots I'm guessing several of those lots will have individual cards hit ebay.

i don't think this will hurt the value of Drums...there is something about the fact that many of those 31 Hunt Drums are new finds (i.e. the first ones to surface of those players), that will keep the rarity & value of Drums high...just my 2 cents...

Sorry, to disagree with you.....but, comparing this DRUM find with the so called...."T206 PSA8 defining moment"....is not valid.
There are many T206 collectors out there seeking the DRUM back (in any condition) for their collections. While there is only a
small sample of "investors/collectors" vying for those T206 PSA8 dudes at those prices.

i think the fact they are all trimmed is a large component. It may slightly affect the value of PSA 1, SGC 10/A cards negatively, but i dont think it will diminish anything above that. Many people have no interest in trimmed cards and will continue to pay a lofty premiium for drum backs graded 2 or higher i believe.

I'm telling you.....the values of these DRUMS (and for that matter Broad Leaf 460's).....whether they are trimmed, paper loss, smudgy,
beat-up (or beat-on since they're DRUM's) are not going to be affected to any great degree. They are almost in that "rarefied strata"
like the "Big Four" (Wagner, Plank, Magie, Doyle), collectors will pay what it takes to acquire them.
