I had a little too much coffee last night before kol nidre...and as a result I couldn't sleep. So I decided to try to soak my keefe poster cut out at 3 am I recently purchased on ebay. It worked pretty much flawlessly...I used filtered water from my refrigerator and filled a dessert plate with it and then submerged the card for 5-10 minutes. I would gradually peel the card away from the backing...then soak some more...then peel some more until the card was liberated. I then blotted the card as best I could and placed it between 2 paper napkins and into a thick book for the night. I'm happy with the results...here are a few photos. I know the card ain't worth much...but I like tim better this way! |

Welcome Dr. Ullman to the band of merry practicioners of the dark arts. Be aware that some cards come apart when soaked, but others do well. I have sunk to the depths (or as I see it: advanced to the point) that my last soaking involved 33 cards, the bathtub, spigot water, an overnight soaking and a week of drying - all with desireable results. But of course, nobody is going to mistake any of my successes as greater than "authentic" in merit. |

Will these A&G cut outs achieve any grade? I wouldn't think so...not even authentic...but I've seen crazier. I have no plans to try to deceive anyone of it's origins. |
