if you had to downsize your collection, what would stay?

I wouldn't call Anson an "all around good guy" either, but we have to remember that most people of that era were racists. He refused to play with or against African Americans, but I'm guessing most players of that era agreed with him. Our society has evolved. The society that Anson lived in was segregated and segregation was the law. That doesn't make it right, but it's hard to judge on that criteria when it was the common thinking of his day.
