Don't know if you were on the scene when PSA first made real waves, but the difference between 8 cards and nm-mt raw cards was so large that it made the grading fees worthwhile even at the then-lower values. You could afford to submit 20 potential 8s when the price you could get on a couple of them could cover all the grading fees and then some. I see the same dynamic at work here (at least with the boxers in the set). Slabbed examples of these cards are selling for much more than their raw counterparts. I'd happily spend $28 a card to add more than that in sales price to it. |
