Pronunciation of Lajoie..?

I read Cobb's biography by Al Stump. He lived with Cobb during his last days, interviewed him and told Cobb's story. According to Cobb himself, the pronunciation of "Lajoie" is Laz-jo-way (soft z and j). I've got the book in front of me, will find exact page reference this weekend.
