I have long been fascinated by this underappreciated set and earlier I started a thread about the low # color variations. In the course of my research, I received an email from someone telling me a story about how somebody they knew had a relative who worked at National Chicle in the 1930s. The writer was told a story that if you added up every color variation of every card, you would end up with exactly 1,000 cards. I did some quick math and I guess it is possible. It's certainly an interesting theory ... |
