Anybody have experience with these? I get confused by the seller's listing because of the heavy advertising of the reprints. Thanks.

I think the seller found a boat load of real ones and, as if that weren't enough, made tons of reprints too. If he says it's a reprint, or he says it's real, I would believe him. He has/had a lot of both..... regards

The real ones are real; the reprints are as advertised and are pretty nice but impossible to confuse with the real deal especially since they say W517 on their fronts. According to the flyer with the cards, the guy printed 2000 sets of reprints (and apparently cannot get rid of them) so he is throwing them in with the real cards he sells. I paid no attention to them when bidding and will give them to my daughter to play with. I kept the real cards for myself; is that wrong?

Yes, that is wrong. It is much better to share in the fun and see how easy it is to tear or cut an ex+ card from a strip. You won't regret it, it is a time machine. Makes you feel like a kid in the '30s - almost.

The hoard he found is the Orrstown, Pa auction in 1997. He cut most of his strips to send them in to SGC and the left over cards that werent in good shape he sells or groups together in lots. He is very repuatble and knows the set. Back when he bought the original hoard at auction with his partner he started to just collect the W517 cards. He wanted to make sets to eventually sell on ebay which i saw he offered one not too long ago. The reprints sold like hotcakes back in 1998 when they were in Tuff Stuff magazine for 34.95. They are very nice reprints and i have a special on them selling them for $5 dollars a set. Anyone interested let me know

the seller Spig-98 is a classy guy as well. I've bought several W517's,he gladly sent free reprints. We give dozens to the residents of our local nursing home when we do our little presentation and the old fellas love them. Most of the cards I've got from him graded "Auth" due to miscuts, he's a very fast shipper.
