Although there are tobacco cards which depict Wagner like the ones Ted mentioned, the story of not wanting to endorse tobacco as the explanation for the scarcity of the T206 has been verified by a 1912 interview with Wagner in the Sporting News. Perhaps Mino and Kotton were small regional brands he never came across or they simply never asked for his permission. |
