I bought this card. It looked good. The e-mail correspondence seemed sincere, but as soon as I bought it, I thought: What the h-ll was I thinking? I wanted the card, but thought the likelihood of a problem...fake, trimmed, scam, etc. was probably 99 to 100% (all the signs were there... low feedback, doesn't deal with cards, had it "given to him long ago"). I just sort of fell asleep on that auction...put the bid in my snipe system and forgot about it. I received the card and I was convined it was real...WOW...but someone had typed their name on the back with an old manual typewritter. This wasn't even remotely mentioned in the description or the e-mails. I just found out it was graded by PSA as a 3 w/MK qualifier. I feel lucky. |

Last night I was the only bidder on a pair of Boston T207 cards, McDonald and Hageman, slightly tougher than average commons in the set. I have seen these sell for quite a bit more in lesser condition. I kept scratching my head because one looked exish to exmtish and the other vgexish to exish. No creases, etc. Maybe it was just a blue moon but I guess I got a little lucky if everything pans out... |

If the cards I sold recently are any indication, prices are soft. A card I was expecting to get $200 or more for went for $105 |

That the cards I will be putting up tonight don't get bad price tags on them. I decided to put some up tonight that would end on Tuesday on next week in order to get some extra cash. It will be interesting to see how they end up - if prices are going soft or if it is the holidays. The cards I put up are not real cheap, so maybe that will make a difference. I guess I'll kow next week if indeed prices are getting soft. |

It seems like there is a lot of good stuff on EBay right now. On the heels of so many auction houses closing auctions, it may be a bad time to list items. A lot of small timers, like myself, scrounge up money to buy something in a MastroNet or similar auction, and then are short on cash after the purchase and stay away from EBay for awhile. I, for one, hope prices are getting soft, since I am in a buying mood right now. I accumulated cash to bid on the MastroNet t204 Ramly Johnson only to have to walk away with nothing, nada, zip, nil. If I would of gotten that card, I wouldn't even be thinking about EBay purchases. |
