This really burns me! If the seller is willing to sell item before the auction is to end then they should sell in a fixed price format with a best offer option. I was an active bidder on the item and had my bid cancelled. It's almost as if you really want something you have to contact the seller and make an off ebay offer. Sorry just venting, |

I know what you mean. That kind of frosts my pumpkin also. When that happened to me once, I emailed the guy and told him that his decision probably cost him some money as I had a snipe set up for X dollars. I also let him know in that first email that I had placed him on my list of "SELLERS TO AVOID", so not only did his decision cost him in this instance, it could continue to cost him in the future. Turned out, he called me to apologize and I made some other deals with him off ebay, never listed, for some nice stuff later on. |

I don't ask people to end auctions after there are bids on them. What others do is their business, I guess. I have no idea if Dan did it or not. Email and ask him..regards |

I also have some low grade T206's on E-bay right now, (shameless spam)and had a opening bid on all of them. I was e-mailed an offer on one of them that was much more than I expected it to sell for. But I declined because I feel that it would be unfair to the bidder that had already place a bid, even though it was only an opening bid of $.99. Integrity is the one thing that follows you forever. |

The seller did not end the auction early to sell the card. I believe it will be back up on ebay in a few weeks. |

There is a response called error in listing if that is the case. |

I signed a contract with ebay to sell there that states that I have read the rules and will abide by them. One of the rules is that I will not end an auction to sell for a higher amount to avoid the fees. Apparently foxes like you don't consider your word to be anything but hot air, but to me my word is my bond. |

I don't fault the buyer in the case of ending a listing. The seller can end the listing if there is a good reason( Card misrepresented, damaged, stolen etc., but what frustrates me is this happens quite a bit on rare items. I collect a rare set and have seen cards disappear from ebay so many times that as it was pointed out to me in an e-mail(and thanks for the e-mails, they are appreciated), that I should contact the seller and express an interest so they feel obligated to go through with the auction. I like to think that it pays to be honest and play by the rules. There is real competition in the prewar card market and I have no desire for the shiny new stuff so I will just have to keep telling myself to play by the rules. |

My policy as a seller (who considers himself primarily a buyer) is that I generally won't sell some out from under someone if there is a bid in -- but when the Reserve has been met (if there is one) I have never sold anything... I guess there are exceptions that could arise but that seems like a solid rule |

I asked him why he ended it early and told him I had a high snipe bid in on it.. This was his reply. |
