Fort Washington show

I know there are 4 Ft. Washington shows (www.phillyshow.org) in a given year, March, May, Sept., & Dec. Just curious on opinions of differences of one show than another. In other words, is Sept still the best of the 4 (since it was the original in Willow Grove) Are there pretty much the same dealers at each one. Is the March one stronger on shiny stuff because of baseball season starting ?

I'll ask closer to the show, but does anyone want to get together in or near Ft. Washington to b.s. mid-afternoon before the show ?

Theres pretty much the same dealers at each show but the March and September shows seem to be the best because the span in between them and the previous show is greater so it gives dealers more time to bring in new stuff.I went to both the March show and May show and it was basically the same cards,except in March i was seeing them for the first time.

I was planning to go to the next Fort show but it coincides with my 2 day trip where im going to see a night game at RFK in washington and then on the way back visit camden yards to see Orioles/Red Sox play the next afternoon

I first attended the Willow Grove Show in 1980 and have set-up
at this Philly Show since March 1983.

Traditionally, the March Show is the best and the Sept Show can
be just as good (depending on how successful the Phillies are
doing by late Sept.).

With typically 200 dealers, the competition to bring your best
vintage inventory is strong. The best advice I give to anyone
attending is.....have a notebook and take stock as you go up
and down each row. You can always find a better deal if you are
patient. Some of the nicest dealers in the country are at this
Show.

As a follow-up to Ted's comment about freindly dealers, he's one of the nicest. Make certain you stop at his table (on the left, walking toward the snack area)--he always has interesting items. And, I would concur that September is usually a good time to find things, although this year I'm going to have to pack all my searching into Friday evening because of a Saturday committment. Does this show have much in the way of vintage sports memoribilia, more specifically vintage bobbleheads and statues like those done by Fred a Kail, or is it more just cards

I plan to attend my first Ft Wash in September. I am mainly looking for cheap beatup stuff. Especially T206s. Jay's cutout Walter Johnson would be right up my alley.

If anyone has any dealers they could recommend, you can even recommend yourself, I'd appreciate the heads up.

I am setting up for the first time in about a year. I will bring what is left of my Zeenuts and I am break up a 52 Topps set. Scottsdale Baseball Cards will be there for the first time. Bob Marcy has a hugh inventory of vintage non-sport cards, and Brian Marcy always has a nice selection. This will be three different dealers for this show.

One of my rummage boxes contains about 100 - T205-06-07 and
E-type cards in varying conditions. And, if I don't have what
you are looking for, I know most of the better vintage card
dealers at the Show, so I can recommend them to you.

However, no "PLASTICIZED" cards at my booth. Only RAW cards
you can "TOUCH.....CARESS.....SMELL".

It would really be neat if Forum members attending organize a
dinner get together that weekend. There is a variety of good
restaurants in the area and I know most of them.

Yours sounds like a table I will definately want to hit. After a 5+ hour drive from Boston, I'll probably look about as beat up as my cards and I'll be wearing an "OBC" hat or t-shirt.
